Ordering & Production
Are all Fabled Fox garments made-to-order?
Almost. For the most part, each garment is made specifically for you after your order is placed. This allows us to reduce waste, avoid overproduction, and focus on quality rather than speed. We aim to maintain sustainable and ethical practices throughout our entire process.
We have a small selection of accessories that do not require sizing that may occasionally be made ahead of time and in stock.
What does made-to-order mean?
Made-to-order means that every piece we create is made specifically for you after your order is placed, not pulled from a warehouse or pre-made stock.
This means your garment is cut, sewn, and finished individually, allowing us to focus on quality, craftsmanship, and thoughtful construction in every piece.
Because of this process, orders take longer to ship than mass-produced clothing. Production times will vary depending on the item and current order volume, but you’ll always see an estimated timeline in our website header.
Made-to-order also allows us to:
- Reduce waste by only producing what is needed
- Maintain high quality standards
- Offer more intentional, small-batch craftsmanship
In short: your garment doesn’t exist until you order it, and then it’s made just for you.
How long does production take?
Production timelines vary by garment and season, but current estimated timelines are posted in our website header. Because everything is made to order, production time begins after your order is confirmed, not at checkout.
What happens after I place an order?
First of all, we probably do a little happy dance.
Once your order is placed, it enters our production queue. Fabric is prepared, the garment is cut and sewn, and then finished and inspected before shipping. You’ll receive a shipping notification once your order is on its way.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Because garments are made to order, changes or cancellations are only possible within a short window after purchase, before production begins. If you need to make a change, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help.
Do you offer rush orders?
At this time, we do not offer rush production. Made-to-order work takes time, and rushing compromises both quality and sustainability.
Shipping
Where do you ship from?
All orders are produced in and ship from Ontario, Canada.
Do you ship internationally?
No, we do not currently ship internationally but we are actively working on offering shipping to the United States. We also plan to expand shipping to other countries in the future.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Total delivery time includes both production time and shipping time. Shipping estimates are provided at checkout, but production time varies by item due to being made-to-order. Usually production time will be within 1-2 weeks. If there are any significant changes to this, it will be noted on the website.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details.
Returns & Exchanges
Do you accept returns on made-to-order items?
Because garments are made specifically for each customer, returns are generally not accepted. Please review sizing information carefully before ordering.
What if my item arrives damaged or incorrect?
If your order arrives with a defect or an error on our part, please contact us within 10 business days of delivery. We’ll work with you to make it right.
What counts as a defect?
Defects include construction issues or damage that affect wearability. Natural variations in handmade garments, fabric texture, or dye tone are not considered defects.
Do you offer exchanges?
Exchanges may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the item and situation. Please reach out before sending anything back.
Custom & Made-to-Order
What customization options are available?
Some garments offer customization options such as length adjustments or sleeve variations. Available options are listed directly on each product page.
Can I request a fully custom garment?
At this time, we focus on made-to-order designs rather than one-off custom commissions. This allows us to maintain consistency, quality, and manageable production timelines.
Can you accommodate special requests?
We’re happy to review reasonable requests, but not all requests can be accommodated. Any approved changes may affect pricing and production time.
Why are some requests declined?
Some requests may not align with our construction methods, material availability, or design integrity. Declining a request helps ensure the final garment meets our quality standards.
