Every Fabled Fox garment begins with thoughtful drafting and careful proportion.

Because our pieces are made to order using natural fibre fabrics, we encourage you to measure before placing your order. Accurate measurements help us reduce waste and ensure your garment fits beautifully the first time.

The first step is to take your measurements. We use four key measurements here at Fabled Fox:

  1. Chest
  2. Waist
  3. Hip
  4. Inseam

How to Measure Yourself

Find Your Fit (Forged / Draped)

Now that you have your measurements, it's time to find the fit that suits you.

Where applicable, our garments are offered in two fit options: Forged Fit and Draped Fit.

These options adjust how the garment is shaped through the chest, waist, and hips, not the overall size.

Forged Fit is designed for straighter proportions. It follows a more uniform shape through the chest, waist, and hips, creating a closer, more structured silhouette. It works best when these measurements are relatively similar.

Draped Fit is designed for more defined proportions. It shapes through the chest and waist while allowing more room through the hips, so the fabric falls more naturally over the body. It works best when there is a larger difference between measurements.

How to Choose Your Fit

Your fit depends on your body proportions and the type of garment:

Tops: compare chest to waist

  • If the difference is less than 5" (13cm) → Forged Fit
  • If it is 5" (13 cm) or more → Draped Fit

Bottoms: compare waist to hips

  • If the difference is less than 6" (15cm) → Forged Fit
  • If it is " (15 cm) or more → Draped Fit

For tops, consider chest, waist, and hip measurements.

For bottoms, focus on waist, hips, and inseam (chest is not needed).

You may wear different fits across garments - for example, Forged in a top and Draped in bottoms - depending on your proportions.

Every garment at Fabled Fox Clothiers is made-to-order with care and intention. To ensure your piece fits beautifully, please review the measurements below before placing your order.

We strongly recommend comparing your body measurements to our size charts below rather than choosing your usual ready-to-wear size. Our “Finding Your Size and Fit” video below will walk you through how to do this.

Sizes correspond to body measurements, not finished garment measurements. Ease is added during pattern drafting to achieve the intended fit described on each product page.

Where applicable, garments are available in multiple inseam options. Inseam options adjust vertical proportions only; not overall fit.

Further expanded sizing is planned for the future.

Forged Fit Size Chart

Finding Your Size and Fit

Fit & Ease Philosophy

Our garments are drafted from an adjusted unisex sizing base built on Canadian averages.

Ease is intentionally built into each design to achieve the silhouette shown in product imagery.

  • Structured garments fit closer to the body.
  • Tunics and layering pieces include additional ease.
  • Adjustable elements such as lacing are incorporated where possible.

Because we primarily use natural fibre fabrics such as linen and cotton, most garments do not contain stretch unless explicitly noted. If a specific garment has unique fit considerations, they will be clearly noted on the product page.

Between Sizes?

If your measurements fall between sizes: Choose the size that accommodates your largest measurement, especially for structured garments.

If the garment includes lacing or adjustable elements, you may choose based on your preferred fit.

Made-to-Order & Returns

Each piece is crafted to order to reduce waste and overproduction. Most made-to-order garments are final sale.

We do not currently offer size exchanges or post-delivery alterations. We strongly recommend measuring carefully prior to purchase.
